    Garden of Benevolence

    In keeping with its philosophy, cemetery designs at Xiao En Memorial Park are created with the continuation of burial customs and beliefs, as well as feng shui traditions in mind.

    The Garden of Benevolence is carefully designed to have a seamless integration of fengshui and Chinese beliefs, in order for families to have a good and smooth-going path in life.

    The Garden of Benevolence’s theme emphasises “stability”, which is created by the burial plot’s unique architecture design where the left side is guarded by a “Green Dragon hill” and “White Tiger hill” on the right. According to Chinese culture, this would enhance the luck and prosperity of the family.

    In addition, family members can choose any special feng shui elements or epitaphs to be engraved on the tombstone.

    With this in mind, the Garden of Eternal Compassion is built as a dignified and stately “repository” that is set against a beautiful scenery of flowers and greeneries as a serene background. It also boasts beautiful imagery of lotus flowers as part of its design.

    In Chinese culture, lotus flowers are admired and considered precious, sacred and beautiful. Lotus roots are latched in mud with the flower submerged underneath, but blooms without a speck of dirt on the flower during the day. Hence, the flower carries symbolisms of rebirth and spiritual enlightenment that refers to how one achieves a state of peace and harmony when the earthly troubles disappear.

    The Court of Chaya’s Luxury section showcases the use of Liuli – a type of contemporary oriental glass work that expresses Chinese traditional aesthetics – as unique niche plaques.

    No two Liuli are alike as the imagery on each masterpiece possess one-of-a kind characteristics that symbolically represent each departed loved one as a unique individual.

    The Buddhist columbarium offer 6 amber-coloured glass work designs, while the Christian and non-religious areas offer 5 transparent glass work designs. Each design is provided in limited editions.

    The design also focuses on the legacy of culture and art to celebrate the vibrancy of life. Xiao En’s Water Village emphasizes bright and spacious areas, with meticulous and elegant decoration that brings out the environment’s serene and tranquil qualities.

    Granite stone is used not only for its durability, but also for its simplistic look that creates a bigger impression of space within the Water Village.

    A statue of Guan Yin – the world’s only large-scale sculpture work by the Choo Family – is enshrined in the public area, leaving a distinctive memory on many visitors.

    Di Zang Temple

    The [Di Zang Temple] is listed as the most modernised Chinese temple architecture with Feng Shui elements by the Malaysian Wikipedia. It is an architectural hall style inspired by the Qing Dynasty, surrounded by mountains and rivers.

    House of Perfection

    The House of Perfection is an air-conditioned building that features a statue of Ksitigarbha placed in the centre. All the ancestral tablets placed here, are made with transparent materials, and arranged to surround the statue.

    This design gives the impression that the departed resting here is protected and looked after by Kṣitigarbha, who according to legend, vowed to free all the souls of the dead from the underworld and help them ascend to nirvana.
